What’s Happening 10/3/25

 

Mark your calendars for our Fall Family Fun Day! We will gather at the REMC building out back by the lake on Saturday, October 25th. The address is 7810 IN-60 in Sellersburg. The event starts at 2pm and we will eat dinner at 5:00pm. For those of you who are good on a smoker or barbeque grill, go ahead and get your recipes ready to compete in our barbeque cookoff!! Contestants may arrive morning of to begin smoking or grilling. Bring the whole family, a dessert if you’d like, and join us for lots of fun! Register online today to let us know you’re coming.

 

Congratulations to Rosie Idle on her baptism! Be sure to hold her in your prayers as she begins her new journey of faith in Jesus Christ.

Propel Middle and High students, join us for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ Fields of Faith event on Wednesday, October 8th from 6-8pm at the New Albany High School football field. We will be joining local students for food, games, and a Gospel message. This is a great opportunity to get outside the walls of our building and be a part of God’s larger teenage Church community. Our Associate Pastor, Blake Belles, will be speaking. Invite a friend or many friends and we’ll see you there!

Women of Forward, we are so excited that so many of you are joining us for this year’s fall retreat! This is our biggest attendance yet! We look forward to seeing all that God is going to do.

If you weren’t able to join us this year, then please go ahead and mark your calendars for that first Thursday through Saturday in November of 2026. For those ladies that are registered to go this year, final payments are due this Sunday, September 28th. Stop at the Welcome Desk for any questions. The total cost of the retreat is $240.

We also need to get room assignments finalized. If you know who you would like to room with, then please contact Lisa Sutherland at lisa@forwardchurchfamily.com or see her this weekend at the Welcome Desk. The Women of Forward Fall Retreat is November 6th-8th in New Harmony, Indiana.

Interested in sharing the love of Christ! Join us once a month as we share a meal with the ladies residing at The Breakaway Recovery House. These ladies are our neighbors just across the alley from Forward Church. We want these ladies to feel welcome to come and worship at Forward if they do not have a church home.

Volunteers from our church will prepare a meal and fellowship with the ladies living there. Women of Forward, if you would like to help or if you have an questions, email Tonia Hatfield at Hatfield912@gmail.com.

Young adults ages 18-29, single or married, we would love for you to join our community we call Merge. If you are interested in meeting others your age who love Jesus and genuinely care for each other, then please come check it out.

Next meeting, Monday, October 6th at the church. Dinner begins at 6:30pm. Bible study starts at 7pm. We will be starting a new study, so this is a great time to jump in if you’ve been thinking on joining.

Men, if you are hoping to connect with other men in the church, this is a great group to be a part of! Forward’s Tuesday evening men’s group is a place where guys can study God’s Word and take time to build friendships with other Godly men. Jump in any time. The men meet at the church starting at 6:30pm.

The Chest of Joash provides an opportunity to give above and beyond the normal tithe. The money from it goes directly to work needed done on our building.

In 2 Chronicles 24 we find Joash repairing the temple and a chest was set outside of it for people to bring a tithe that was used to pay the workers restoring the temple. Verse 10 says, “And all the princes and all the people rejoiced and brought their tax and dropped it into the chest until they had finished.”
