What’s Happening 9/26/25

Thank you to all who came out last weekend to participate in the Choices for Women Walk for Life. Our goal as a church was to raise $2,000. Thanks to your generous support, we raised $2,475!!

For those who are wondering, we did not win the golden shoelaces for our Pastor, but only because another team had a $5K donation. Praise the Lord for that!!

We had a sweet afternoon of fellowship at the Day of Encouragement last Sunday after the church service. It was a safe environment for moms of preteens and teenagers to come together and ask the hard questions, gather resources, and get support from their sisters in Christ.

Those who’ve walked through this season of parenting shared Godly principles they’ve learned to help encourage the younger women. We hope to continue these types of parenting dialogues in the future.

Women of Forward, we are so excited that so many of you are joining us for this year’s fall retreat! This is our biggest attendance yet! We look forward to seeing all that God is going to do.

If you weren’t able to join us this year, then please go ahead and mark your calendars for that first Thursday through Saturday in November of 2026. For those ladies that are registered to go this year, final payments are due this Sunday, September 28th. Stop at the Welcome Desk for any questions. The total cost of the retreat is $240.

We also need to get room assignments finalized. If you know who you would like to room with, then please contact Lisa Sutherland at lisa@forwardchurchfamily.com or see her this weekend at the Welcome Desk. The Women of Forward Fall Retreat is November 6th-8th in New Harmony, Indiana.

Interested in sharing the love of Christ! Join us once a month as we share a meal with the ladies residing at The Breakaway Recovery House. These ladies are our neighbors just across the alley from Forward Church. We want these ladies to feel welcome to come and worship at Forward if they do not have a church home.

Volunteers from our church will prepare a meal and fellowship with the ladies living there. Women of Forward, if you would like to help or if you have an questions, email Tonia Hatfield at Hatfield912@gmail.com.

Young adults ages 18-29, single or married, we would love for you to join our community we call Merge. If you are interested in meeting others your age who love Jesus and genuinely care for each other, then please come check it out.

Next meeting, Monday, October 6th at the church. Dinner begins at 6:30pm. Bible study starts at 7pm. We will be starting a new study, so this is a great time to jump in if you’ve been thinking on joining.

Men, if you are hoping to connect with other men in the church, this is a great group to be a part of! Forward’s Tuesday evening men’s group is a place where guys can study God’s Word and take time to build friendships with other Godly men. Jump in any time. The men meet at the church starting at 6:30pm.

Our Propel Middle & High School Ministry meets every Wednesday evening at the church from 7:00-8:30pm. For our teens, this is a great environment to build community and sit under solid Biblical teaching. Come out and invite a friend!

The Chest of Joash provides an opportunity to give above and beyond the normal tithe. The money from it goes directly to work needed done on our building.

In 2 Chronicles 24 we find Joash repairing the temple and a chest was set outside of it for people to bring a tithe that was used to pay the workers restoring the temple. Verse 10 says, “And all the princes and all the people rejoiced and brought their tax and dropped it into the chest until they had finished.”
