CULTIVATING KINGDOM RELATIONSHIPS

Saturday, October 3rd
10am – 2pm

Join us for a discussion on cultivating kingdom relationships hosted by our friends at Nomad Church Collective.

We will learn about opportunities to build relationships, spread the name of Jesus, and live like the Church right here in our neighborhood.

The morning classroom discussion will be followed by a box lunch, then we will walk the neighborhood together to start connecting with those around us.

Pastor Neil Crouse

Name: Neil Crouse

About me:  I am 49 years old and the Lead Pastor of Forward Church, a flex time picker at Amazon, and the Head HS Cross Country Coach for Christian Academy of Indiana.  I love to be active outdoors, spend time with my family, enjoy a good cup of coffee, and conversation with friends.

About my family:  Tanya and I have been married for 26 years and we began dating 30 years ago!  We have two children; Aaron is 19 years old and a sophomore in college pursuing a Songwriting and Digital Audiences degree.  Callie is 17 years old and a Senior at Christian Academy of Indiana.  We have a sweet yet very protective 10 year old Kintamani breed dog named Toby.

Fun facts

Favorite ice cream flavor:  I never turn down any ice cream, but my favorite would have to be:

Store bought – Extreme Moose Tracks by Purple Cow

Restaurant/Parlor – Black Cherry Chocolate Chip from Graeter’s

Favorite dream vacation destination:  I absolutely love the Mountains in Colorado and would go there any chance that I am given.  If I could travel anywhere outside of the US, I would pick a trip to the Holy Land and then Australia.

Favorite board/card game:  Favorite Board Game is Clue, favorite card game is Rat a Tat Cat and great memories from when the kids were little.

Favorite movie/TV show:  This is a tough one, because there are a lot of great movies out there and I like a wide variety.  I would have to say the whole Star Wars saga because of my childhood continuing on through adulthood as they keep going!

Favorite Bible verse:  Again, tough to pick because there are so many great ones.  I guess I am supposed to say the whole Bible!  If I had to pick one, it would have to be 2 Timothy 3:16 because it is one of my life verses and a verse that played a major role in my calling to preach.  “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”

How long have you attended Forward? 8 years and 10 months.  Forward will be 9 years old in November!

How long have you been on staff?  8 years and 9 months.

In what ways do you volunteer at Forward?  Well, I am the only Full Time Staff so I guess I technically don’t volunteer.

Tell us about a time that was especially meaningful for you in your time of ministry at Forward.  There are a multitude of examples that I could share.  From all of the baptisms, to moving moments at the altar, to authentic worship, to seeing lives changed as people follow Jesus, to seeing relationships heal, witnessing people disciple others, being a part of a church family that values the power of prayer, and is reaching people in the community, and watching people use their gifts to serve the Lord.  All of those things and so much more, make me so thankful to call Forward Church our home!

Why We Give How to Give

Chest Of Joash

The Chest of Joash provides an opportunity to give above and beyond the normal tithe. The money from it goes directly to work needed done on our building.

In 2 Chronicles 24 we find Joash repairing the temple and a chest was set outside of it for people to bring a tithe that was used to pay the workers restoring the temple. Verse 10 says, “And all the princes and all the people rejoiced and brought their tax and dropped it into the chest until they had finished.”

A huge THANK YOU to all of you who have joyfully donated just as the Israelite officials and people did!

With money that has been raised in the Chest of Joash over the past 3 years ($50,089 since January 2017!), we have been able to

  • Build a ramp off of our sidewalk for those with a handicap
  • Dedicate parking spots in our parking lot with Handicap and First Time Visitor signs
  • Seal our roof to repair several leaks
  • Paint the exterior of the building along with the barn wood design and Forward Church signage
  • Build classrooms in our back hallway for Bible studies and other classes to take place
  • Pave and stripe our parking lot
  • Currently working on expanding our worship space to provide room for more people (this was always the plan for this area but especially necessary now under COVID-19 response guidelines)

You can give to the Chest of Joash by clicking the button below and selecting “Chest of Joash” in the drop down menu.
